Ekaterinburg Town Hall – Russia

Collaborating with the architecture firm of Vjaceslav Bukin, architect Alejnikov chose Granito porcelain stoneware to tile the eight floors of the city’s town hall, home to the municipal council. A material already known in the capital of the Urals, used also for the construction of the airport.
The colours chosen were Giallo Imperiale, Rosso Balmoral, Bianco Bethel and Nero Assoluto, in size 60×60 – 24”x24” for the interiors of this impressive building. On the eighth floor, below the dome crowning the building, a 12 sq.m. rosette was created by cutting porcelain stoneware tiles using the Waterjet technology.
