COEM S.p.A. is especially proud to announce that we have obtained a further quality and environmental certification, and that the COEM factory has adopted the Occupational Health and Safety Management System compliant with the BS OHSAS 18001:07 standard, the application of which allows for a system-based approach to managing and safeguarding occupational health and safety.
The main benchmark for safety management worldwide is the BS OHSAS 18001:07 standard, “the application of which allows for a system-based approach to occupational health and safety management”. The standard “defines an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) as the part of an organisation’s management system used to develop and implement its policy for handling risks to occupational health and safety”.
Although not compulsory under Italian law, corporate organisation models compliant with the British Standard OHSAS 18001:2007 are assumed to be compliant with the most stringent requisites, which include organisational structure, planning activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes and resources. Aspects such as assessment, planning and control are very important elements in an occupational health and safety management system, allowing for a precise awareness of the tasks entrusted and the pertinent responsibilities.
