MILANO SUBLIME

MILANO SUBLIME WINS THE ADI CERAMICS & BATHROOM DESIGN AWARD 2025

BEST CERAMIC PRODUCT AT CERSAIE 2025

“The collaboration with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano is a demonstration of the company’s sensitivity towards materials and historical, architectural, and craftsmanship tradition. The marble effect retains all the character linked to liturgical spaces and to the Fabbrica itself. The project also boasts a tactile quality that enhances the perceptive experience of the material, helping to bring out the authentic dimension of stone. This attention to cultural heritage, combined with the faithful reproduction of the material, makes the project especially deserving of recognition.”
With this motivation, the jury of the 11th edition of the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award, promoted by ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, selected Milano Sublime as Best Ceramic Product at Cersaie 2025.

THE STONE OF THE CATHEDRAL

TODAY, FOR ARCHITECTURE EVERYWHERE.

Coem takes a close look at Candoglia marble and transposes its identity onto porcelain stoneware surfaces. With a faithful reproduction of the colours and respect for the material, Milano Sublime is an act of conscious interpretation: two shades, Puro and Lume, embody the nobility of the original stone, reinterpreted, selected and now revealed to contemporary architecture.

PURO

RADIANT BRIGHTNESS

The lighter essence of Candoglia marble is interpreted in a luminous, pale pinkish background, furrowed by fine, clean grey veins. The graphics are carefully balanced to bring order and clarity to spaces, enhancing the visual continuity between horizontal and vertical surfaces. Puro is the ideal choice for minimalist interiors in pale tones, where light becomes a design element and the material has a subtle yet essential role to play.

LUME

ETERNAL MEMORY

A timeless aesthetic highlights the warmer shades of Candoglia marble: an intense, veined pinkish-grey with soft movements and slightly amber hues. Visual warmth and tactile comfort, for rooms that combine a balanced character with a solid, perfectly measured presence. Lume is designed for elegant spaces that seek atmosphere and identity, for projects in which the dialogue between memory and contemporaneity lies at the heart of its style identity.

A TRIP INTO THE ARCHIVES,
AMID STATUES AND STONEMASONS

In the beating heart of the Cathedral, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano is home to centuries-old statues, drawings, and knowledge, transformed into a workshop where past and present engage in an on-going dialogue. Here, master stonemasons work Candoglia marble with devotion and absolute precision, recreating the shapes and details gradually worn away over the years.

Coem has tiptoed respectfully into this process, supporting an extraordinary cultural heritage through porcelain stoneware surfaces that write a new chapter in the beauty of the Duomo.

VENERANDA FABBRICA
DEL DUOMO DI MILANO

Since 1387, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano has been overseeing the construction and restoration of the Cathedral, maintaining the exclusive use of Candoglia marble: a rare stone, destined only for the Duomo. The link between the quarry and the Cathedral is not merely material; it’s deeply symbolic. Embodied in each block of marble quarried are centuries of history, effort and beauty.

It is this bond that Coem has chosen to honour, bringing the allure of Candoglia marble to a porcelain surface faithful in tone and authentic in spirit. Because matter is not only a question of form; it’s a living narrative.
