Modica stone is a limestone extracted from the area of Monti Iblei (Hyblaean Mountains) in Sicily and takes its name from the city of Modica. Its natural dominant colours are light, gradually passing from white with grey hues to a warmer beige colour. The Modica stoneware collection by Coem recaptures both the appearance and colours of the Sicilian rock, with a delicate texture and patterns that make it ideal for both indoor walls and outdoor floors. Coem broadens the vision and changes perspective, enriching the project with two unconventional new interpretations of porcelain stoneware surfaces: one for interiors with a sophisticated, minimalist design, and another with a bolder pattern for outdoor stoneware flooring, designed to capture the original atmosphere of the traditional architecture of Modica in newly conceived living spaces
