MILANO SUBLIME: COEM AT MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2026

Published on: 02/04/2026

Milano Sublime is the installation featuring Coem during Milano Design Week 2026, designed by Alessandro Pasinelli Studio.
In the heart of the city, in Piazza dei Mercanti, opposite the Duomo, a sculptural, experiential open-air space takes shape. PLEASE, TAKE A SEAT is an invitation to pause, observe, and reconnect with a story rooted in centuries of craftsmanship.
The installation celebrates the connection with Candoglia marble, a material emblematic of the Lombardy region and the inspiration behind the Milano Sublime collection. Developed in collaboration with the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, it seeks to reinterpret the tradition of the stone used for the city’s cathedral in porcelain stoneware.

On the occasion of Milano Design Week 2026, this research is presented to an international audience in a highly symbolic setting.
The space unfolds without rigid boundaries, as a fluid, open environment rather like a contemporary amphitheatre. Columns and volumes evoke architectural archetypes, creating a composition that blends historical references with a contemporary design language.

The surfaces interact with the natural light, reflecting the sun and transforming the space into an ever-evolving landscape. The central pavilion becomes both a narrative element and an exhibit, showcasing the potential applications of the ceramic material. The project interprets public space as a true “urban living room”: an inviting, accessible place designed for taking a break and enjoying some social interaction.
