Coem’s water management strategy promotes projects that aim for more efficient consumption, and focuses mainly on minimising the impacts of the processes required for the production of porcelain stoneware, or on projects aimed at reducing the amount of water used in its offices.
In 2019, the company’s sensitivity to limiting the use of plastic and the consequent pollution of our seas and oceans prompted Coem to launch the “Acqua libera dalla plastica” project at its Fiorano premises, aimed at eliminating plastic bottles by installing water dispensers connected to the mains water network, to provide fresh, purified natural and sparkling water at a minimal cost, to the benefit of both employees and the environment.
In 2019, recyclable paper cups were provided for the hot drink dispensers at both the company’s locations.
In 2023, an estimated 30,000 plastic water bottles and 180,000 plastic cups for hot drinks were saved.
