The redevelopment of Oliphant – an office building located in the southeast of Amsterdam – typifies the era in which we find ourselves today. It consists of a closed office system from the 1990s that has been transformed into a transparent and “urbanised” building, suited to the contemporary way of working, and closely intertwined with the personal lives of those who work there. The result is an iconic tower where people can meet, join forces and exchange ideas.
The tower is accessed through an outdoor plaza that extends into the hall, which in turn connects four public floors. All the walkable surfaces are covered with CARDOSO Grigio Chiaro Strutturato tiles of various sizes, a stone-effect stoneware by Coem that fits in well with the character of this building.
