“Every single element contributes with an input, idea, limit or constraint, and must therefore always be unambiguous and contextualised, aiming for sustainable evolution.”
Architect D. Pisoni
T.U. porcelain stoneware, with its colour shades and sizes, instantly seemed the material of choice for this building, creating the outer cover for the whole “office block”. It was also used to tile the walls of the inner staircase linking the two levels of the studio and for the bathroom tiling.
Architect Dennis Pisoni describes his relationship with ceramics: “Ceramics are a laboratory material very close to the natural material and can also be used in green building. Until now ceramics have been seen as a material needed to tile floors; I believe in new horizons for ceramics and the tiling in my office is an example of this. With ceramics the architect can dress up his work, adding the right character and decoration.”
